GECIS IT -Services provides High Availability - a key value added option for customers who seek the ultimate in reliability and guaranteed system uptime. We also offer solutions to customers who require uptime over and above our standard uptime of 99.5%.

Typically, High Availability is delivered by building a combination of load balancing and redundancies across all three tiers of data center hardware - web servers, application servers and database servers.

Application Monitoring Center

GECIS - IT Services provides 24x7 monitoring and functional support of all critical systems through the GECIS - IT Services’ Applications Monitoring Center. Using leading monitoring systems, the GECIS - IT Services’ AMC monitors key layers of the technology stack, providing alerts to the AMC staff when critical thresholds are reached, in order to facilitate proactive resolution.

Through the use of custom scripts, GECIS - IT Services’ is able to monitor and track key network parameters such as network latency and packet loss – identifying the source of congestion in the Internet or private network.

Additionally, GECIS - IT Services monitors specific application level activities through the use of application operating systems and database specific knowledge modules related to each application. This allows monitoring of key application processes & parameters, as well as the proactive detection and resolution of issues, often much before the customer is aware of them. All issues are logged in a central repository to facilitate analysis of trends and the development of knowledge modules to detect and resolve them automatically.

The GECIS - IT Services’ Application Management Center works 24 x 7. It is staffed with frontline experts armed with the latest monitoring tools and with well-established Standard Operating Procedures for issue escalation and resolution.

GECIS - IT Services provides end-to-end services to activate, build, manage and maintain your key Sun - UNIX and Microsoft - NT systems. Leveraging these two platforms, GECIS - IT Services has standardized and automated the delivery of systems services, allowing customers to benefit from tested server builds, analysis tools and maintenance programs.
After going-live, GECIS - IT Services continues to maintain the staff, spare parts and vendor contacts to handle all hardware issues in a timely manner.

Additionally, GECIS - IT Services provides all system updates and OS upgrades to address any known security breaks or performance degradations. All upgrades and patches are communicated with the customer and tested prior to the roll out. Upgrades are performed on rebuilt environments- both speeding up the process and providing easy rollback in the event of an upgrade failure.

Backup / Recovery

GECIS - IT Services provides reliable and scalable storage solutions by partnering with industry leaders to provide Network Attached Storage(NAS) in each of its data centers. Each customer is provided a secure storage solution with reserved storage capacity.

GECIS - IT Services storage architecture allows customers to dynamically increase or decrease storage requirements to fit their individual needs.

Additionally, GECIS - IT Services uses FibreChannel -switching fabric and cached data to provide customers quick access to stored data, often times replacing the need to search through old back-up files for lost or corrupted data.

Back up and Recovery of critical business data is essential to the safety of companies’ digital assets. As part of our standard service, we at GECIS - IT Services provide back up and recovery for all database and application environments that minimizes the possibility of data loss due to an outage. As part of this standard plan, environments are fully backed up to media weekly, with daily incremental data back-ups occurring each night.

Between back ups, media is stored on site in a fireproof vault. Additionally, full back ups are sent offsite to data storage weekly. Tapes remain in storage for no less than one year prior to reuse, allowing customers to recover a snapshot of the environment on the day it was saved.

To eliminate the need for unnecessary downtime, GECIS - IT Services utilizes special technologies that allow open files to be backed up without shutting down the system or jeopardizing the integrity of the back up.

OLTP Environment - CRM Platform

We at GECIS - IT Services use a leading CRM system to log and track requests of customers. We provide customers the right SLA (Service Level Agreement) in terms of criticality of resolving the most complex IT-related issues.

The CRM system has been tightly integrated with heterogeneous systems like alert system and data warehousing systems which take care of tracking and alerting of major/critical issues, reporting and perform analysis.

This is also made available on the intranet, which is accessed by users across the globe to track various requests. To ensure that this is accessed at utmost speed, the system is replicated across sites. Thus also ensuring Business Continuity.
