Background : Opportunities.
Dear
Mr. Muralidharan:
Have about 8 years experience in the US in Supply chain Management.
Corporate wide Materials management, Logistics planning/policies,
optimizing manufacturing operations, cost control and handling
projects to enhance performance of the plants. ERP/MRPII systems,
transportation planning systems & some experience with implementing
supply chain software. Could you kindly enlighten me about similar
situations/opportunities in India? Does Bangalore has anything
going on in this area?
A : According to the best of my knowledge, there are
no end-user companies working in supply-chain area, except for
a few companies like Levers, Reliance. Supply chain consulting
could be where you will need to look for jobs in the big 5 Consulting
companies in India like KPMG, PWC, etc. If you send me your
C.V., I will pass it on to our parent company TMI-Network, one
of India's largest search and selection firms.
Q:
I am 27 years old and own a hotel but not satisfied with my
business. I am good at computers at the user - level and know
the inside -out of most common application softwares. I have
a special aritistic talent for computer graphics and I work
flawlessly in 3d studio max, photoshop etc. my works are comparable
to the international standard. I would like to adapt this as
a career. How should I move forward. I don''t have any formal
education in arts.
A
: I think you should look for a job in the multimedia industry,
you should be prepared to move out of your current city. Prepare
your C.V. along with samples of work done and host it on a free
site like www.mydocsonline.com send your C.V. along with the
link of the samples of your work done to multimedia companies.
Q: Qualifications : M.Sc. (Physics)
I am Post Graduate in Science and Done the Diploma in Computer
I have vast exp. in Engg. Industry manufacturing Transmission
Line Towers. I have developed number of Packages in Foxpro and
Now I want to change my job. When I am searching for Foxpro
Job no where I am getting. How I should get the information.
?
A : Foxpro is no longer a software in demand, it is also
suited only for distributed computing and is also used in the
PC environment. You need to acquire new skills if you want to
go ahead. You could look at doing courses in Java, Web Technologies
etc.
Q: Qualifications
:B.Sc. - Microbiology, Diploma in computers
Query Background : Medical equipment field
I have 4yrs experience in medical equipment sales field. What
is the scope in this field?
A : Medical Equipment will continue to be a growing field
as health is still a major priority in India's large rural and
urban population.
Biomedical equipment like scanners, ECGs etc. will continue
to be in demand but the question will be about your career-growth
in the industry. Your lack of engineering qualification should
not come in the way of growth.
One way you can make up for it is by acquiring an MBA preferably
a full-time MBA. The second way is by doing exceptionally well
in sales. Even in this case, you will have to have a very good
knowledge of the various subjects of management. I recommend
www.themanagementor.com to acquire management knowledge on an
ongoing basis.
Q:
I did my diploma in architecture with 70% marks but I was attracted
towards computers since long. Although I did not have any formal
training in computers but then also through self learning I
can operate many softwares. I have my own NIIT franchise
near Chandigarh (haryana). But seeing the current scenario and
development of it in around chandigarh I want to go in for hard
core professional training. some of my friends suggested me
to go for WAO, Embedded Technologies or M-Commerce. But since
in chandigarh there are no professionals to guide me to these
fields and I do not know where to go for taking up these type
of courses as here there are no professional centers that take
up these high end courses. I also contacted Infosys and Wipro
sites to query about the trainees they keep but their basic
qualification is BE,MBA etc where I do not fit in please guide
what should I do to fulfill my ambition and where my quest for
advanced technologies will be fulfilled.
A
: Your problem is pretty complicated. If I understand correctly,
you have a NIIT franchise therefore, the logical idea is to
expand the franchise with new technologies like embedded technology
and M.Comm. I am sure you can find companies providing franchise
training in these areas. Please check out search engines and
you may land up in some other website. Companies like Infosys
and Wipro are known to train employers who will stay with them.
My sincere advice is to expand your franchise.
You
could also do a course in AMIE so that you can become a full-fledged
engineer.
