Roles and Responsibilities:
Mr. Aditya Mittal is President and CFO of Mittal Steel Company. He joined the Group in January 1997 and has held various finance and management roles within the company.

Aditya was appointed Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for the Group in 1999. He led the company’s acquisition strategy resulting in expansion into Central Europe, Africa and recently the United States. Consequentially Mittal Steel emerged as the world’s largest global steel producer and increased its steel making capacities eightfold.

The acquisitions he led include:

• Polskie Huty Stali in Poland
• Nova Hut in Czech Republic
• Sidex in Romania,
• Annaba in Algeria
• Iscor in South Africa
• International Steel Group in the US

Aditya’s most recent achievement was leading Mittal Steel’s successful bid for Arcelor, the world’s second largest steel company.

Awards:
Aditya was selected as one of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders in 2005.

He received the Equity Deal of the year award in 1997 for his IPO work in for Ispat International NV. He had pulled off the largest ever IPO in the steel industry, raising over $775 million.

Social Roles:
Aditya is an active participant in various charitable organisations, most notably the NSPCC in the UK. He is also an YPO member.

Personal Details:
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Economics from the Wharton School in Pennsylvania. He graduated magna cum laude with concentrations in Strategic Management and Corporate Finance.
