Education wise, in Pune the "bhatji" tradition ( brahmanical tradition of study) is very strong here and learning is respected. So regardless of origins or prejudices, the majority of students generally develop brahmanoid traits and do very well in academics. They also have time to develop interests in other fields like sports as well. This makes for well rounded personalities and corporate recruiters and head hunters usually appreciate Pune candidates.
