Things
for Daddies to Do
21st Century
Sailing
Sail into the 21st Century across an expanse of blue! This game has plenty
of options and three racing courses that make it a great way to learn
some of the basics of sailing. Kids and parents can set the wind and courses
before they start a race. Set the level to novice, intermediate or advanced.
Then decide whether the ship's crew should act on their own or if the
captain has to remind them of when to tack the sail. With 3 worthy opponents,
this is quite a challenging task. Many of us may be left sailing circles
around the starting buoy! The help file included in the game comes in
real handy. This game is a demo with all of the options available, but
it lasts for two hours.

for all ages. The demo version has 10 holes and the full version has 54.
There's a scorecard for each player. Aim and hit the ball with mouse or
keyboard controls. The strength of the shot can be controlled by pressing
the mouse button. This golf game introduces new twists to the standard
golf features. For starters, you can shoot the ball through a cannon in
addition to the usual windmill.

High Heat
Baseball 2000
This virtual ballpark is a sure favorite of Baseball fans. You can pick
a favorite team, the Yankees or the Padres, and challenge the other! The
stadiums are fashioned after the real thing. You can try out three innings
in the demo version. Like real baseball, the challenge lies in team play.
Without wasting time, quickly switch to the next base and toss the ball.
Be sure to try and catch the ball (an automatic out) then flip it over
to third base to snag another out. When batting, players swing the bat
with the enter key. Timing is important for a home run. The demo version
includes options where players decide which controls are automatic and
which ones they have to control with keys. In this way, the game can be
set to play with minor keystrokes for kids, or can be adjusted for the
much more advanced player. The full version offers many more options,
including Internet and LAN play. Players will even be able to play in
the world series!

International
Rally Championship
This 3-D driving game gives players the best of both worlds. Although
you can easily lose control, there's simply no way for you to get hurt
while learning to drive. So start your engines now. Use the "Z"
and "X" keys to steer and rev your engine with the quotation
mark! Though it isn't the same as using your feet, but once the race begins,
the other cars will do well to beware of the player in the back with a
lead finger.
