A GLOBAL PRESENCE
The LNM Group aims to secure its position as one of
the leading low cost producers of quality steel in the
global steel market. The strategy is to acquire under-performing
steel companies and turn them around into blue chip
assets.
The LNM Group has offices spread across the globe:

- North America (USA, Canada, Mexico, Trinidad)
- Africa (South Africa, Algeria)
- Asia (Indonesia, Kazakhstan)
Central and Eastern European regions
Ispat Sidex in Romania and Ispat Nova Hut in Czech Republic
are the groups main steel making facilities in Central
and Eastern Europe. The group employs around 30,000
people in this region and has invested in excess of
600 million dollars.
Additionally, the group has recently signed a privatisation
agreement with the Polish Ministry of State Treasury
regarding the purchase of Polskie Huty Stali, Poland's
largest steel producer, and expects to receive regulatory
approval in early 2004. This will increase its annual
steelmaking capacity in the region to 14 million tonnes,
making it by far the dominant producer in the region.
Western Europe
The LNM Group is the largest producer long products
in Western Europe with 2002 shipments exceeding five
million tonnes.
With two steel making businesses in Hamburg and Duisburg,
Germany and one in Gandrange, France, the LNM Group
employs nearly 4,200 people in this region.
North America
LNM's client base in North America includes industry
leaders such as Ford, Toyota, Honda Motors, General
Motors and Whirlpool. It reports a turnover of 2.3 billion
dollars and has annual shipment exceeding 12 million
tonnes, with steelmaking facilities in the US, Canada,
Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago.
Africa
LNM Group has a stake of just under 50% in Iscor limited,
the largest steel producer in Africa and 70% equity
stake in Ispat Annaba, Algeria's largest integrated
steel plant.
Asia
Ispat Indo (Indonesia) is the founding member of the
LNM Group. It produces a range of billet, bars and wire
rods.
Ispat Karmet in Kazakhstan is one of the largest integrated
steel producers in the world with an annual production
capacity of five million tonnes. In the year 2002, it
reported a turnover of 785 million dollars.
