Dr.John J.Bartholdi,III
Dr. John Bartholdi is a Professor in the School
of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology,
where he is Research Director of The Logistics Institute and holds the
Manhattan Associates Chair of Supply Chain Management. He teaches courses in
supply chain issues, especially warehousing, at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels and in Georgia Tech's program of industry short courses. Dr.
Bartholdi's research centers on problems of warehousing and distribution; but
he reserves some time to publish on wider-ranging interests, including
structural mechanics, voting, geography, computer science and biology.
Dr. Bartholdi graduated in 1968 with a degree in
mathematics from the University of Florida and then served two tours of duty
in Southeast Asia as a paratrooper in a Naval Special Warfare unit. He
returned to complete a Ph.D. in Operations Research, also at the University of
Florida. In addition to his current position, he has served on the faculties
of the University of Michigan, the Shanghai Institute of Mechanical
Engineering, and the National University of Singapore. He was named a
"Presidential Young Investigator" by the National Science
Foundation, 1984-1989; and his work has also been supported by, among others,
the Defense Logistics Agency, the Office of Naval Research and the Air Force
Office of Scientific Research. He is also a principal in the consulting firm
Integrated Warehouse Design, Inc.
Mr.H.Lee Hales
Mr. H. Lee Hales is the President of High
Performance Concept, Inc. and Richard Muther & Associates. He is also a
Senior lecturer at The Logistics Institute based at Georgia Institute of
Technology. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Kansas, and
an M.S. in Management from the Sloan School, Massachusetts Institute of
Technology.
As a consulting engineer, Mr. Hales has assisted
such companies as Motorola, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, Nokia, General Motors,
Ford, Sony, Lands� End, and many others.
He is a former manager of warehouses and distribution centers and has
helped to plan and install forecasting and planning systems, ERP, warehouse
and transportation management, EDI, and other forms of trading partner
integration. He has also completed consulting assignments for a wide range of
industries in more than 20 countries.
Formerly
editor of Enterprise Integration Strategies, Mr. Hales� writings on
enterprise and systems integration have appeared in leading trade journals in
the U.S. and Japan. He is also the author of two books on facilities planning
and automation, Mr. Hales has conducted workshops in Korea, China, Japan, and
Singapore.

A 50% refund will be made for withdrawals (received in writing) ten working
days before the commencement of the course. No refunds will be made thereafter.
However, a replacement will be accepted upon prior arrangement at no extra cost.
