QuickTime MPEG Extension
This tool contains the QuickTime MPEG extension installer and MoviePlayer 2.5.1. The QuickTime MPEG extension works directly with QuickTime to provide complete playback and control of MPEG movies. After installing the extension, with every opening, QuickTime automatically imports the content of the MPEG movie into a QuickTime movie as a single MPEG track. This track contains the video and audio streams of the MPEG movie but doesn't contain a compressor component. This version supports Hitachi's MPEG1A digital camera and MPEG-1 still image files on VideoCD discs, and can access all the MPEG images on a VideoCD that contains more than 32 files.

MPEG Suite
This' a fast encoder/decoder for .MP3 files; with the possible exception of CD ripping. It comes with its own internal encoding codec, or it can use the bundles Plugger+ or BladeEnc encoding engines. The decoder portion uses the newest XAudio codec for optimal quality and speed for turning .mp3 files into.wav format. Select from several settings for layers, bit rates, and channels. If desired, after encoding, the program can delete the original source files. Moreover, you can play .wav or .mp3 files before encoding or decoding. You can figure out MPEG Suite's tabbed interface easily. However, since this software's in alpha (pre-beta) release it's liable to be buggy and/or unstable.

Hyper MPEG Player
You can play MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and the MPEG-System Video stream formats. The program's VCR-style controls let you move step by step forward and backward. You also have the option of saving a frame to BMP format. This program would make an excellent Web browser helper program. (46.91 kB, Windows 9x/NT. Freeware)

MPEG Audio Collection
Catalog your MPEG audio files with this attractive little utility. It's fast and easy to use. It scans selected drives for .MPA, .MP2, .MP3, and .MPG files and lists them in an Explorer-style tree-view interface. Just click on a file to retrieve its bit rate, length, sample rate, and channel mode. Double-click the file to play it with its associated application (most likely Windows Media Player). Its only shortcoming is lack of an integrated player. Other features include play lists, search support, a convenient .MP3 tag editor, and CD jewel case label printing.

Xing StreamWorks
This is an introductory product designed to provide high-quality audio-only streaming capabilities. It uses the standard StreamWorks 3.10 interface, although certain functionality is disabled. Full functionality, including full-screen, full-motion video and CD-quality audio, is available in the standard StreamWorks Server 3.10 product. The StreamWorks MP3 server delivers file-based and live audio streams to StreamWorks clients over any TCP/IP network. TCP/IP networks include Local Area Networks (LANS), Wide Area Networks (WANS) including intranets, and the Internet. The StreamWorks MP3 Server delivers audio content as a "stream" of data over a network. Streaming data is a method of playing content as it is being received, without waiting for long file downloads or transfers.
