Having completed her schooling from Cathedral and John Connon School, Bombay, Binita went on to graduate from Sophia College, majoring in Economics, with Statistics and French Literature as her electives.

She began her career in 1995 with N.S.Guzder & Co., an International Freight Forwarding Firm. She then joined Indian Public Affairs Network (IPAN), A Hill & Knowlton Associate in 1997, where she specialized in servicing media clients such as MTV India, NBC Asia, CNBC, National Geographic and Rediff on the Net amongst others.

Releasing the potential of the PR Industry in India and her own capabilities & interest in the area, she decided to set up a Public Relations firm of her own.

In October 1998, Binita set up ActiMedia Pvt. Ltd. with Amitabh Saksena as her partner. Within a short span of 2 years, ActiMedia today services leading brands such as Esso Petroleum India (Exxon Mobil Corporation), Christie's, Contests2win.com, Baan India, 3 Genesis, Le Royal Meridien Mumbai, Charagh Din Shirts, and Sula Wines amongst several others.

Binita set up Ejourno.com (India) Pvt. Ltd, In April 2000, and launched the website www.ejourno.com, India's first comprehensive website dedicated to journalists and the world's first JourtalTM on July 4, 2000.

Ejourno is India's only online service that personalizes news delivery to journalists based on their own professional interests. Its primary mission is to build a community of journalists, who can interact with other ejourno's, access timely & relevant information and work effectively through the service.

It further seeks to ensure the highest quality of journalist-communicator relationship by providing a common interactive platform for journalists, organisations and public relations agencies.

Ejourno launched its services on July 4, 2000. Within six months of its operations the company has more than 250 organisations, 65 agencies and over 800 registered journalists from 50 cities.

Binita firmly believes in the Internet and it's potential as a medium of the future.

In her spare time, Binita, 26, loves to travel, enjoys roller blading, swimming & water sports.
