The Practical Idealist
Hope you are not in it for moolah!!! Then you might as well forget it! This sector does not have much to offer individuals who are money driven. They want people with a strong sense of community spirit and the desire to help others

Creativity
Several opportunities will come your way to take charge of events.

Brand new day
This is not your typical 9 to 5 desk job, where you repeat the same routine day in and day out. Non-profits typically have a wide diversity of daily activities. No two days may be alike.

Erratic hours
Not always! Sometimes you may have to attend a dinner or special event after "hours." People that are comfortable in social situations can possess a distinct advantage in the non-profit sector

Profitable skills
Basic knowledge of management, information systems, advertising, accounting, finance and of course, marketing will be a differential advantage.
