The course work
in these universities focus on managing both internal and external
exchanges of a nonprofit more effectively. Internal exchange includes
human resource management, financial management and organisational
management. External exchange includes community organizing, fundraising,
marketing and public relations.
Doing an MBA
Students can take advantage of a variety of courses in decision sciences,
financial management and management of information systems. This gives
non-profit students an opportunity to network with potential leaders
from the profit sector, which in turn may prove beneficial for the
future for fund raising ventures.
Doing an MPA
The MPA includes a number of courses focusing on the non-profit sector.
Moreover, it gives non-profit students an opportunity to network with
students pursuing government careers. This way student can also understand
and appreciate the impact of government involvement on the sector.
Doing an MSW
MSW degree is applicable to non-profit organizations that deliver
human services; it is less relevant to arts or other non-human services
nonprofit.
Doing a Free-standing
Here the course work is not included in a degree program. This is
rather, a stand-alone degree such as master's in nonprofit administration.
These programs provide intensive skill and knowledge in the areas
of philanthropy, voluntarism and the non-profit sector.
