The  purpose  of  this  research is to document the global supply chain for electronics manufacturers  including  suppliers,  manufacturing,  transportation  and  distribution strategies, and fulfillment of customer demand. Particular emphasis will be placed on Asia-Pacific links in the global supply chain.

Conduct literature review to document the global electronics supply chain and the Asia-Pacific links. This would include manufacturing, transportation, inventory, warehouses and distribution channels, and customs.
Research key industries within this sector like chip and computer manufactures and document supply chain similarities and differences.
Identify major electronics manufacturers that either supply finished goods to the Asia-Pacific region or manufacture components or finished goods in the region. Document similarities and differences among key manufacturers.
Research volumes of electronics goods by origin and destination pairs moving in and out of the Asia-Pacific region. Identify trade trends and modes of transportation.
Identify  bottlenecks  in  the  supply  chain  and  opportunities for improvement and reducing cycle time.
Investigate  the  use  of  decision  support  systems,  information  technology, and e-commerce in the area of electronics supply chain.
Identify follow-up research problems of interest to the industry.
