Upon successful completion of the program, TLI-AP Study Award holders are required to work with the respective company sponsors for three years in Singapore.

Applicants must first satisfy the admission criteria before they are considered for the awards. If an applicant satisfies both the NUS and Georgia Tech admission requirements, a sponsoring company matching process will begin. An interview (local or overseas) may be arranged at the company's discretion. Hence, besides satisfying the admission criteria, the applicant must also satisfy the recruitment criteria.

Applicants who satisfy admission criteria and are sponsored by their employers (Singapore Companies) do not need to go through the matching process. They will be admitted to the program and given Study Awards.

Applicants will be informed sometimes in May 2002 whether they are successful in getting a place in the program, and whether they are given the Study Awards. They will be told their sponsoring companies. A Deed between the applicant, the sponsoring company and TLI-AP will be signed to execute the terms and conditions of the Study Awards. The execution of the agreement signifies the following:

  1. TLI-AP will provide the award to the award recipient throughout the period of study;
  2. The sponsoring company will fund part of the award and will employ the award recipient upon completion of study; and
  3. The award recipient will complete the study and work with the sponsoring company in Singapore for a period of three years upon graduation in a logistics related field. However, if they are required to be posted/attached overseas for a substantially long period of time, TLI-AP, EDB and NSTB will consider each request on a case-by-case basis.
  4. In the third semester, the award recipient will work on the research project of the sponsoring company under the supervision of faculty staff of Georgia Tech and NUS.
In the event that either party is unable to perform their obligations under the agreement, the following will apply:
What if .... What will happen ...
The sponsoring company discontinues funding due to closure of business in Singapore? The award recipient is assured of continuous funding. A replacement company will be found.

After graduation, the sponsoring company decides not to employ the award recipient? A replacement company will be found to employ the award recipient.
Upon graduation, the award recipient decides not to work for the sponsoring company? The award recipient will return all funding paid to him/her.
Upon graduation, the student decides not to work for the sponsoring company, but wants to work for another logistics company in Singapore? The award recipient will return to the sponsoring company the amount he/she received from the sponsoring company. The agreement is transferred to the replacement company.
During the working period, the student resigns? The award recipient will return to TLI-AP an amount calculated on a pro-rata basis.
