The National Science & Technology Board (NSTB) and Economic Development Board (EDB), together with sponsoring companies will offer TLI-AP Study Awards to outstanding students enrolled in the dual
M.Sc program. If you require financial aid, you may apply for the TLI-AP Study Award together with your course application. The TLI-AP Study Awards are open to all Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and International Students.
The total amount of the Study Award is approximately S$52,000 (see note

It covers the cost of tuition fees (both NUS and GT tuition fees), a monthly stipend for you to study full-time in Singapore and Atlanta, miscellaneous fees and expenses and a return economy airfare for doing the second semester at Georgia Tech. Note
: The University
reserves to itself the right from time to time (even after the Award Deed
has been executed) to make such variation or
variations to the above benefits as the University may deem fit.
Upon
successful completion of the program, TLI-AP Study Award holders are
required to work with the respective company sponsors for three years in
Singapore.
Applicants must
first satisfy the admission criteria before they are considered
for the awards. If an applicant satisfies both the NUS and Georgia Tech
admission requirements, a sponsoring company matching process will begin.
An interview (local or overseas) may be arranged at the
company's discretion. Hence, besides satisfying
the admission criteria, the applicant must
also satisfy the recruitment criteria.
|
|
Applicants who satisfy admission criteria and
are sponsored by their employers
(Singapore Companies) do not need to go through the matching process.
They will be admitted to the program and given Study Awards.
Applicants will be informed sometimes in May 2002 whether
they are successful in getting a place in the program, and whether they
are given the Study Awards. They will be told their sponsoring
companies. A Deed between the applicant,
the sponsoring company and TLI-AP will be signed to execute the terms
and conditions of the Study Awards. The execution of the agreement signifies
the following:
|
|
|
- TLI-AP will provide
the award to the award recipient throughout the period of study;
- The sponsoring company will fund part of the award and will employ the
award recipient upon completion of study; and
- The award recipient will complete the study and work with the
sponsoring company in Singapore for a period of three years upon graduation in a
logistics related field. However, if they are required to be posted/attached
overseas for a substantially long period of time, TLI-AP, EDB and NSTB will consider each
request on a case-by-case basis.
- In the third semester, the award recipient will work on the research
project of the sponsoring company under the supervision of faculty staff of Georgia Tech
and NUS.
|
In the event that
either party is unable to perform their obligations under the agreement,
