Decision support systems are used extensively by both integrated and combination carriers to maximize revenue and yield, improve customer service, and reduce cost. This talk describes supporting technologies such as cargo yield management, route optimization, and control of terminal operations.

Professor Bazaraa has extensive experience in the areas of transportation, supply chain, logistics, and operations research. He recently joined The Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech as Managing Director for Global Logistics. Before that, Dr. Bazaraa served as Senior Vice President of Cargo and logistics at Sabre, a large information technology company focusing on travel and transportation. He also worked as Senior Vice president at Burnham, a third party logistics company, and as Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech.
