Medical
insurance is very expensive and compulsory. Dental insurance is
separate. A medical insurance form filled at the Company Office
after verification provides a Medical Insurance Number. Get details
of compensation for insurance (if provided any) from your company/organization.
On
a visit to a doctor (medical/dental) a token amount has to be
paid by the individual as per the diagnosis of the disease. The
balance amount of the doctors fee is paid by the Insurance Company
(as per the details of compensation for insurance by the employer
Company/Organization). Medical Insurance $ 200 approx. per person
for one month Dental Insurance $ 50 approx. per person for one
month Operations are very expensive. In your passport or other
document, write the names of any people you wish to be contacted
in case of a medical emergency. Also list your Blood group, and
any allergies or medical conditions of which doctors should be
aware. Bring any medication you regularly take, for a few months
till you are familiar with alternate medicines available in U.S.
A copy of necessary medical history and your prescription is essential
and very handy. Get extra pair of reading glasses (if required)
and get your teeth treated in India (as dental treatment in India
is much cheaper) before you come to U.S.
