Bahwan Automotive Centre (BAC) is one of the largest and most professionally managed business groups in the Sultanate of Oman representing several world renowned franchises like TOYOTA, LEXUS, FORD, MAN, KOMATSU, KUBOTA, YOKOHAMA and many more with annual turnover of US$ 1 billion.

The state-of-the-art IT infrastructure of BAC is among the largest in the country and comprises four high end IBM AS/400 Servers, a number of Windows NT/2000, Novell Netware and Sun Solaris Servers for application systems, business intelligence, groupware, messaging, network management, database, internet/intranet, firewalls and anti-virus applications. The infrastructure supports more than 2000 real-time users at 75 remote locations.

Our development environment includes Java, Visual Basic, SQL Server, ILE RPG, DB2/400, Business Objects, Lotus Domino, Mimix/400 and others.

We are embarking on major expansion in the areas of e-Commerce, CRM, Web based systems and Enterprise Business Applications. To support our rapidly growing business needs, we wish to induct following IT specialists:

Project Manager - Development

You will be responsible for project management requiring development and delivery of high quality systems under demanding schedules. Technology adaptation, team building and user satisfaction will be an integral part of your job. You should have 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, backed by sound analytical, technical and management skills. Expertise in managing the full life cycle of projects by employing the best practice methodologies is essential. You should be conversant with n-tier architecture and OO development methodologies. Experience in large scale systems development / implementation and/or middleware development involving OO technology is preferable.

e-Business Architect

You will act as an internal consultant responsible for the architecture of our e-commerce technical strategies and should have good exposure to technologies like J2EE (IBM Websphere, Java, EJB, Servlets, JSP, XML); Net and Windows DNA (ASP, COM+, ADO). You should have 8 to 12 years of experience in managing software development projects, of which around 3 years should be OO environment and Internet technologies.

Manager-Software
Quality Assurance

You will be responsible for devising and implementing Software Quality Assurance measures in coordination with various systems groups. You should have 8 to 12 years of relevant experience with thorough knowledge of quality planning, life cycle methodologies, process management and test plans. SEI CMM level knowledge / certification will be to your advantage. Excellent communication and human relation skills are essential.

System Administrators /
Network Engineers

You will be responsible for local/ wide area network design and implementation, TCP/ IP, routing protocols, SNMP, VOIP, implementing firewalls, installation/ configuration of routers/ switches, system administration and data security. The focus will be on automation and data security. The focus will be on automation and integration. You should have 3 to 8 years of relevant experience and flair for scanning, experimenting & implementing new technologies. Placement will be in line with experience.

Project Leaders/
Analyst Programmers

You will be responsible for analysis, design, development and implementation of systems. You should have between 3 to 8 years of relevant experience. Experience in OO design/programming and UML/ Rational and/ or Data Warehousing Tools will be preferred. Placement will be in line with experience.

Common for all positions
Qaulification: Graduates in Science / Engineering or MCAs.
