CLIMATE

Pune is situated in the rain shadow region of the western ghats & is located on the deccan plateau. Thus the combination of aridity and relative altitude makes for an equable climate without large fluctuation.

Temperatures:
Summers tend to be hot with temperatures reaching over 35° C sometimes.
Winters are bracing but the minimum temperature rarely fills below 18° C. Woolens are needed only for a couple of months.
The average daytime "room temperature" is around 28° C.
The rainfall during the monsoons is intermittent.
