Headhunter.net
Helps Freelancers Fly Solo; Launches New Site Sologig.com, Virtual
Marketing Agent for Independent Professionals.
ATLANTA --(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2000 --Headhunter.net, (www.headhunter.net)(NASDAQ:HHNT),
a leading online recruiting site, announced today its entrance
into the virtually untapped consulting website marketplace.
Sologig.com
is a new website community, dedicated solely to marketing the
talents of the growing number of freelancers, consultants and
independent professionals (IPs). Providing a forum for IPs, Sologig.com
will allow "soloists" to use the Internet to streamline
efforts spent on marketing themselves to the nation's top employers.
Backed
by the trusted Headhunter.net brand, Sologig.com will operate
as a wholly owned property of the Atlanta-based company. The new
website community will leverage its marketing position by launching
with more than 20,000 project listings available for searching.
"Sologig.com
is saving the 8.5 million(a) freelancers, IPs and consultants
in the United States the time, resources and money spent competitively
marketing their services and gaining awareness on their own,"
said Bob Montgomery, Headhunter.net's President and CEO. "Sologig.com
aims to make the marketing process easier and keep the pipeline
of projects full for these independent professionals. We handle
their marketing and provide them with new opportunities, allowing
the IPs to focus more time on revenue generating activities."
From
now until January 1st, 2001, the base service will be free to
those who sign on with Sologig.com.
After the first of the year, IPs will select the membership level
that suits their individual needs, based on the desired degree
of performance. They control the exposure of their services to
potential new customers by choosing where their profile appears
within a listing. A reverse of the standard Headhunter.net model,
the Sologig.com model is consistent with the Awareness Business
Strategy, designed to directly benefit the independent professional.
"An
awareness-based virtual marketing website provides the streamlined
simplicity that our IP clients need," said Keith Brannan,
Director, Sologig.com. "By leveraging the reach, traffic
and customer base of Headhunter.net, we have the project content
and connections necessary to handle marketing activities. Now
IPs can spend their time generating revenue instead of having
to market their services through cold calling or other traditional
methods."
